Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Onagre.

General

What is Onagre?

Onagre is a SaaS monitoring platform focused on application-level resources. It helps you track the health of your APIs, databases, queues, certificates, and more — without the complexity of traditional infrastructure monitoring tools.

What can I monitor with Onagre?

You can monitor HTTP endpoints, JSON/XML APIs, DNS records, SSL certificates, TCP ports, databases (SQL and Key-Value), message queues, file checksums, and application heartbeats. Onagre supports 14 sensor types in total.

Is Onagre free to use?

Yes! Our Free plan includes up to 10 sensors with HTTP-based monitoring, a 5-minute check interval, and basic integrations. No credit card required. You can upgrade anytime for more sensors and advanced features.

Sensors

How often are checks performed?

On the Free plan, checks run every 5 minutes. On Pro and Enterprise plans, you can set the interval as low as 1 minute. Each sensor can have its own interval.

What sensor types are available?

Onagre supports 14 sensor types: HTTP Response, Keyword, JSON, XML, Ping, Port, DNS, SSL Certificate, SQL, Key-Value DB, Dead Letter Queue, File Checksum, Heartbeat, and Server. Availability depends on your plan.

Agents

What's the difference between public and private agents?

Public agents are managed by Onagre and check resources accessible from the internet. Private agents are lightweight executables you install in your own network to monitor internal resources behind firewalls — no VPN needed.

How do I install a private agent?

On Linux, run a single command: curl -fsSL https://d.onag.re/onagent.sh | sudo bash. Docker and Windows (as a service) are also supported. The agent connects to the Hub automatically via gRPC.

Security

Where is my data stored?

All data is hosted in France on European infrastructure. We are GDPR compliant and use AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS for data in transit.

How are credentials and secrets secured?

Sensitive data such as API keys, database passwords, and authentication headers are stored encrypted. They are only decrypted at check execution time within the agent and never logged or exposed.

Billing

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes. You can upgrade at any time and changes take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades are applied at the end of your current billing period.

Is there a free trial?

Our Free plan is free forever with up to 10 sensors. For paid plans, we don't offer a traditional trial, but you can explore the full platform on the Free plan before upgrading. Contact us if you'd like to test a specific paid feature.
